Metadoxil是意大利开发上市的一种护肝新药,本品化学名为吡多醇吡咯烷酮羧酸盐。主要用于治疗突慢性酒精性肝炎、对于急性酒精中毒的精神症状也有明显的治疗作用。本品可促进酒精在体内的清除速率,可使突性酒精中毒性肝炎病人血清酶指标降低较快,临床症状消失也较快,对酒精中毒伴发的激动、粗鲁放肆等精神症状亦有良好的治疗作用。对56例慢性中毒患者研究方表明,每天口服2克,共3个月,治疗期间不禁酒,治疗的第2月开始获良好效果,病人血清生化指标(γ-GT,胆红素,谷草转氨酶)出现明显的恢复。尽管继续饮酒,仍显示保肝作用。对患者的神经精神症状也有显著的改善作用。
