The following is my grandmother 40 years ago, said - 1937, Shanghai fell, the Japanese killed to Wuxi. My family was living in what is now the Great Eastern Commercial Building (Shen Guoxiang) and the next is the Japanese Gendarmerie (after the liberation of the Shibao Road Chemical Bureau and Fuxing Road Medical Bureau). My family decided to abandon the house, fled to a place called “Yang Shu Yuan” in Wuxi countryside. At that time only Yangshuyuan waterway, near the Jiefang Road, near the gas station on board. Near the water on the west gate, full of size ships, are common people’s fleet. My family hired a boat, the whole family maids dozens of mouth with some soft starting. Grandma was with my father at that time, although inconvenient, but foresightedly carrying a suitcase.
