《现代汉语词典》中收录的刀部字有两类:一类是以“刀”为偏旁,一类是以“刂”为偏旁。而《说文解字》是我国最早分析汉字形、音、义的字典,在学术史上有着崇高的地位。全书按形体结构将9353个小篆分为540个部首。《说文解字.刀部》共收字66个。本文结合《说文解字》重点分析《现在汉语词典》中以刀为部首表示刑罚的四字:刵、剐、劓、刖。
