A novel non-suffactant method was described to synthesize mesoporous silica using dye basic fuchsin as template.Chemical reactions were introduced into the formation of mesopores rather than the weak electrostatic or hydrogen-bonding interactions in the traditional surfactant routes.The reactant composition was found to be crucial to the pore structure of objective product.The formation mechanism of mesopore was also proved.
