足球对抗中制约和反制约的对抗特点决定了足球战术在长时间的发展后进入一个注重平衡的发展阶段。可以预见,在未来的足球比赛中,随着足球运动员技战术水平的提高,比赛的激烈性和竞争性将不断向前发展,比赛双方实力差距逐步缩小,比赛将更多地陷入相持。现代足球理念通常认为宽度的扩展会影响进攻向前推进的速度,至于期间的具体数据,目前还没有准确的量化与呈现。同时,业界普遍认为防守反击的过程中,速度是第一因素,甚至有些片面的强调速度。随着防守战术的完善和对于反击线路控制的增强,反击通过成功率的下降是必然趋势,所以,需要找到合适的搭配模式,在速度和宽度利用上找到一个平衡。
