本研究在北京、广州、贵阳、太原和上海市分别进行了专题小组讨论和个人访谈，调查对象为２５岁以下的外来已婚和未婚女工。调查结果表明，城市外来未婚青年女工中有相当一部分人已经有性生活经历，然而她们缺乏生殖保健意识，缺乏基本的避孕知识，不了解获得避孕药具的途径，在寻求服务方面存在着社会、心理、经济各方面的障碍。只有很少未婚妇女使用避孕药具。因没有采取避孕措施而导致非意愿妊娠的结果往往是人工流产。在外来青年女工未受保护的性生活中，男方起着相当大的作用。
The study conducted panel discussions and personal interviews in Beijing, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Taiyuan and Shanghai, respectively, for foreign married and unmarried women below the age of 25. The survey results show that quite a few of the migrant young women in urban areas already have sex life experience. However, they lack the awareness of reproductive health care, lack basic contraception knowledge and have no access to contraceptives. There are social, Psychological, economic obstacles in all aspects. Few unmarried women use contraceptives. The result of unwanted pregnancies resulting from the failure to take contraception is often induced abortion. Men play a significant role in the unprotected sex life of migrant young women workers.
