《知新报》与康有为关系密切 ,基本上秉承了康有为等对中西文化的看法 ,并有自己独特的视角。《知新报》认为现阶段中国文化在诸多方面不如西方 ,应向西方学习 ,但同时认为中西文化具有共通性 ,把西学解释成为中国文化所固有 ,企图以此来减少引进西学的障碍 ;又主张全面学习西方最新最先进的文化 ,大量翻译介绍西政西艺西学 ,成绩斐然 ;认为天下公理本质上并无中西之别 ,中西文化最终必然走向融合之路 ,西方文化并非完美无缺 ,中国文化也远非至善至美 ,只有互相融合 ,取长补短 ,才能使中学发扬广大和西学行之无弊。 “Chihpen Daily” and Kang Youwei are closely related, basically adhering to Kang Youwei and other views of Chinese and Western cultures, and have their own unique perspective. “Zhixinbao” believes that at this stage, Chinese culture is not as good as the West in many aspects and should learn from the West.
