Necessity of Kinship and Polygamy Sometimes, I ask individual or small groups of Ningbanese why their society adopts polygamy. Indeed, the question is stupid and futile because I got it The answer is always the same, and the guess also guessed it: the polyandry system is a custom that Nyingba ancestors brought from Tibet. Occasionally, people took the opportunity to condemn Tibetans elsewhere in Nepal, who reportedly gave up their polygamy because of pressure from neighboring Indians as they approached the capital. On other occasions, I asked some people why their marriage and marriage take the form of polyandry, but the answer I have received still can be imagined: it is the custom of Ningbanese, or marriage is arranged by their parents
