泡桐属假二叉分枝植物,顶芽一般在冬天自然死亡,不能萌发成向上生长的主干。过去我们多采用抹芽和目伤等接干法培育高干良材,近几年来我们在海拔1050米的半山阳坡,试用了泡桐干顶粗技环状剥皮接千法,收到了比较显著的效果,当年最高生长量达7.25米,萌芽枝1.3米处粗4厘米,平均(10株)年高生长4.92米,当年朐径增粗6.6厘米。具体做法: 1.掌握好适宜的接干树龄。泡桐栽植后,一般当年缓苗,第二年恢复正常生长,第三年开始旺盛生长,枝叶多,根系发达。因此,一般栽植3—4年后进行环状剥皮接干最好。剥皮时间,在春季发芽前半个月进行完。
