Tetravalent cerium ions can be combined with a variety of organic reducing agents to form redox initiating systems for olefin polymerization. Samal et al reported amide compounds such as thioacetamide, succinamide, acetamide and cerium ion matched acrylonitrile (AN) aqueous solution polymerization.
