This paper adopts the view of evolutionism and argues that language appears in a mosaic form, which is based on the incorporation of various healthy human sensory functions, muscle movement, computing and memory. This article briefly introduces the current two major theoretical research trends in Hong Kong. One type of research mimics the state at the time of language appearance by way of multi-factor interaction, and finds that vocabulary and morphology-synchronous evolution of syntax and sentence structure originate from the phrase structure. Another type of research focuses on how brain waves reflect language processing. Studies have found that: Language anomaly can be identified early in the event-related potential (ERP); tones can be absolutely perceived, Even when human attention is occupied by other events. This paper proposes that linguistics should be studied in a wide range of interdisciplinary perspectives. That is, synchronic and diachronic periods, individuals and groups, biology and sociology, theory and application should be combined. Multidisciplinary research will eventually come together to realize the true “consensus” that was recently articulated by Edward O. Wilson.
