Just after New Year’s Day, I received a letter from Foshan, Guangdong Province, whose signature is “A Chinese Wu Fan.” In the letter, he said there was an article in the news recently from the Chinese Taekwondo Network Association about the fact that South Korea’s Taekwondo will become a compulsory course for primary school pupils in our country and that it has been approved and is expected to be implemented in the near future. I am very shocked. In recent years, it has been appealing for school martial arts education. Although Taekwondo and Karate have become the fashion sports pursued by the people in the city, it is emotionally unacceptable to hear Taekwondo actually become a compulsory course in primary school. The ancient Chinese martial arts More and more schools have become dispensable or non-existent projects, making me feel worried as a martial arts worker. At the same time I also feel that martial arts education in schools can be described as internal and external, with a long way to go.
