孔子:性相近,习相远。作家和画家对面坐着,他们是初次见面,都行注目礼。作家看画家和画家看作家,他们的第一眼是相似的。作家觉得他面前的这个人不像画家,他不接受那个鼻子,鼻梁骨还拱起一小块挺碍眼的骨头,鼻头尖尖的还向下指着,鹰勾鼻子。狡滑的鼻子。画家觉得他面前的这个人不像作家,他也不接受对方的鼻子,蒜头鼻子,有点儿笨拙,没文化的鼻子。不过这种感觉只是一瞬间,马上就都释然了。是这个画家。是这个作家。下边就不同了,作家和画家思维方式的分野就从这儿开始。作家抓住画家脸上的线条感觉,企图借助他们,走向画家的内心。画家也抓住作家脸上的线条感觉,但他力求把握它,让作家的内心从这些线条感觉上呈现出来。这就是许谋清和靳尚谊会面时双方的感觉,而这次会面是由我给安排的。我无意给读者虚构一次绘声绘色的会面,我只力图达到它的平凡。事情已经滑过去有两年之久,我从许谋清的文字稿上找到一段确切的实录——

This is the feeling both Xu Mouqing and Jin Shangyi met when the meeting was arranged by me. I do not mean to give the reader a fantastical meeting, I only try to achieve its triviality.
