People generally hold four kinds of distinction between justice and charity: one is the obligation of justice is a negative obligation, and the obligation of charity is a positive obligation; the other is that the obligation of justice can be enforced while the obligation of charity can not be compulsory; The obligation of justice is a perfect obligation, and the obligation of charity is an imperfect obligation. Fourthly, justice is a question of rights, while charity is not. These four distinctions are in fact plausible. To have a complete grasp of justice and charity, we must have a holistic vision of moral life.
