The Dzerzhinsky factory conducted a series of experiments to improve the various bronze and brass casting processes. For the sake of melting bronze and brass, a rotary crucible is used (Figure 1). For several years, the following grades of bronze and brass have been produced in this furnace: 3-7-5-1, 6-6-3, 5-5-5, 9-2, 80-3, etc. The advantages of smelting non-ferrous metals in rotary crucibles are mainly simple and easy to manage, a micro-oxidising atmosphere, and the number of smelting alloys can range from 10 kg up to 250 kg.
