一、引言贾平凹的长篇小说《浮躁》以农村青年金锁与小水之间的感情经历为主线,描写了改革开放初期整个社会的浮躁状态和浮躁表面之下的空虚。翻译家葛浩文(Howard Goldblatt)有着不同的文化背景,关于小说《浮躁》中几次出现的中国陕西农村的“狗”字的理解,笔者与美国著名的中国现当代文学翻译家葛浩文执笔翻译的英译本Turbulence中的理解有所差异。笔者结合自身的农村生活经历,在通篇阅读小说的基础上,分析探讨了“狗”字的英译,以期达到最切近而又自然的等值翻译效果。
I. INTRODUCTION Jia Pingwa’s novel “impetuous” takes the emotional experience of rural youth as a golden lock and Xiao Shui as the main line, depicting the impetuous state of the entire society and the emptiness under the impetuous surface during the initial stage of reform and opening up. The translator Howard Goldblatt has a different cultural background. With regard to the several “dog” characters in rural China in the novel “impetuous”, the author and the famous American contemporary Chinese translator Ge Hao Wen There is a difference in comprehension in Turbulence, an English translation of a pen. Based on my own experience of rural life, the author analyzes the English translation of “dog” in the whole novel, in order to achieve the closest and natural equivalent translation effect.
