The authors analyze some of the equations that determine the maximum flood discharge and investigate the limitations of these equations and the possible errors in the calculations. The main disadvantage of these formulas is that they do not take into account the shape of the reservoir influent curve and the shape of the reservoir curve. The method to calculate the change of the flood is comparatively the method of drawing analysis, which takes into account the influent curve, the catharsis capacity curve of discharge building and the standard curve of storage capacity.
