Zhang Sheng, a professor of history at Nanjing University, pointed out in his article “The Nanjing Massacre in the American Texts:” The massacre, observation, recording and analysis of events by the U.S. people who were in Nanjing during the Nanjing Massacre and who were not in Nanjing were concerned about the situation in Nanjing. , Constitute a distinctive third-party text on the history of the Nanjing Massacre and spread throughout China, Europe and the United States. The American texts record the criminal facts of the Japanese massacre, rape, robbery, arson, drug trafficking and the implementation of the “comfort women” system, revealing Japan’s efforts to cover up war crimes and demonstrate its evidential value in Tokyo and Nanjing trials. The American text, which originated from the U.S. people’s humanitarian assistance to Chinese military and civilian personnel, also reflects the thinking of the U.S. people over the U.S. interest in China.
