去秋,乘天高气爽,我和几位黄埔同学和青年朋友一道,重游峨嵋山。车到峨嵋山市,我大吃一惊:八年前这里还是山乡小县城,现在竟成了一座崭新的旅游城市,市上红男绿女,车水马龙,热闹非常。我们在外贸宾馆宿一宵,翌日改乘宾馆的旅游小巴进山。车子在群山中左拐右旋,奔驰在密林、溪涧之间。车行一个多小时,到了雷垌坪停车场。这儿已达海拔2430米,满山是云雾,寒气袭人。我们到接引殿索道车站乘缆车登山,五分钟便到了金顶。金顶海拔3077米,比3099米的万佛顶略低,但一般人都把它看作峨嵋的最高峰。

Golden Peak 3077 meters above sea level, 3099 meters lower than the top of the million Buddha, but most people think of it as the highest peak of Emei.
