The method of evaluating involute starting angle corresponding to the detection point is proposed to evaluate the profile error of the scroll. A mathematical model is established and a general procedure for solving the profile error of the profile is proposed. The practical application confirmed that the method is simple, rapid, and has practical value. This method provides the basis for scientifically detecting and evaluating the contour error of the scroll line
