当人类即将进入21世纪之际,有着东方文化艺术特色的中国山水画也将它一个世纪内创造的辉煌写进美术史。1998年7月10日在宁开幕的“首届江苏省山水画作品展览”,无疑是对当代江苏省中国山水画面貌的检阅,同时也是江苏省画界留给本世纪中国美术的一件重礼。 有着山水画光荣传统的江苏,历代大家辈出。南唐董源、巨然,宋米芾,元四家中黄公望、倪瓒,明吴门四家,清初的髡残、石涛,金陵八家,娄东、虞山画派的“四王”以及邻上的袁江、袁耀等,把山水画推至鼎盛时期。进人20世纪的50、60年代,以傅抱石、钱松岳、亚明、宋文治、魏紫熙为首的一代山水画家作“江山万里行”写生,办“山河新貌”画展,轰动全国,
