Based on the panel threshold model of Japan’s 47 administrative regions, this paper empirically analyzes the impact of Japanese manufacturing agglomeration on economic growth. The results show that the agglomeration of Japanese manufacturing industry has a significant impact on economic growth. When economic development is at a low level, the agglomeration of manufacturing space has a significant positive effect on economic growth. When economic development reaches a high level, the impact of agglomeration of manufacturing industries on economic growth changes from significant positive effect to Significant negative effect. When transport costs are high in the region, the agglomeration of manufacturing space has a significant positive effect on economic growth. With the decrease of transportation costs, the impact of agglomeration of manufacturing industry on economic growth changes from a significant positive effect to a significant negative effect. When the degree of agglomeration of manufacturing space is low, the agglomeration of manufacturing space has a significant positive effect on economic growth. With the increase of agglomeration of manufacturing space, the impact of agglomeration of manufacturing industry on economic growth is significantly affected by the significant positive effect Into a negative effect, the effect of agglomeration of manufacturing industry on economic growth shows a directional change.
