教育统计学是应用统计方法研究教育问题的一门科学。主要研究如何收集、整理、分析在教学和研究过程中所获得的数据资料,以及如何根据这些资料进行科学推论的方法。例如:正确估价学生的成绩,评价教学测验考核命题的质量等。它主要分为三个部分:描述统计,推断统计和实验设计。所谓描述统计,主要是把在教学实践中和研究过程中所获得的资料归纳成统计表,统计图,然后求出集中量,差异量和相关量等。从而将大量另碎的,杂乱的数据进行归纳,概括并描绘出它们的规律性。
Education statistics is a science that uses statistical methods to study educational issues.
