「人民教育」一九五五年一月號刊登了辛安亭先生的「普希金專家對語文教學改革的意見當如何理解」一文。這篇文章一方面批評了李述先生的「結合当前实際,學習蘇聯語文教學經驗」一文中的意见,另一方面又發揮了葉蒼岑先生关於語文教學改革问題的論點。我讀了這篇文章之後,覺得有許多看法是值得商榷的,也有一些論點是似是而非的,尤其是作者稱叶蒼岑先生编著的「論語文教學改革問題」書為:「宜傳語文教學新方向的文章」,這种說法不但是過甚其詞,而且是嚴重的錯誤,因為這已不是什麼細枝末节的問題,而是關係到整個方向的問題,這是一个根本问題,如果按照辛安亭先生所談,遵循着葉蒼岑先生所「宣传」的「方向」走去,我認為就會使当前語文教學改革工作走上錯誤的途徑。所以我覺得有必要根據李述和辛安亭二位先生的文章來討論一下什么是當前語文教學改革的新方向的問題。我認為要想討論這一問题,必須從下列幾方面進行研究: 一、必須根据政策:即必须根據中央人民政府政務院「關於改進和發展中學教育的指示」和一九五四年全國中學教育會議的精神。在政務院的指示中曾强調指出「改進教學,以先進的科学知識武裝學生。這首先要求教師努力鑽研教材,深刻领會和掌握自己所教學科的教學目的、思想內容和科學內容,相應地改進教學方法,以求正確地系就地進行教學。」又指出「學習蘇聯的先進经
