This paper uses the 2010 China Family Dynamic Tracker (CFPS) data to study the impact of cultural capital on adult cultural consumption behavior. The results show that both family cultural capital and individual cultural capital have a significant positive impact on cultural consumption. The effect of individual cultural capital on cultural consumption is stronger than that of family culture. In family cultural capital, the impact of mother on adult cultural consumption is greater than that of father. There was a U-shaped curve between the age and the spending time of the culture. The characteristics of the female, the state of marriage, the number of siblings, ethnic minorities, working hours and the distance from the commercial center of the town had a significant negative impact on the expenditure on cultural consumption. Higher incomes, appraisals of their social status, and spending in urban areas can significantly increase spending on cultural spending.
