Marx analyzed the material production attributes of the transport industry that transport is the continuation of the production process in the circulation field, pointing out that the modern transportation industry is the fourth material production department outside the agriculture, industry, and mining industries. These Marx’s arguments are still correct today. However, for a long time our economic work and theoretical research have a one-sided, narrow view of material production. This view only recognizes the material production attributes of the transport industry, and it seems that as long as this understanding is unified, it can solve all problems in the development of the transport industry. In fact, Marx’s analysis of the material production attributes of the transport industry does not mean that the transport industry has other attributes, and transport can indeed be recognized from other perspectives.
