牙周病的现代研究,希望通过阻断宿主参与牙周破坏过程的途径,以改变牙周炎的病变过程。前列腺素和花生四烯酸的其它代谢物被认为是牙周炎骨吸收中重要的宿主介质,环氧化酶对前列腺类的致炎物质产生起重要作用。作者试图研究氟比洛芬(Flurbipro-fen)对人体的作用,确定这类环氧化酶抑制剂能否减少人牙周病中牙槽骨的吸收。
Modern research on periodontal disease hopes to change the pathological process of periodontitis by blocking the way the host participates in the periodontal destruction process. Prostaglandins and other metabolites of arachidonic acid are considered as important host mediators of bone resorption in periodontitis, and cyclooxygenases play an important role in the production of pro-inflammatory substances in the prostate. The authors attempted to study the effects of Flurbipro-fen on the human body to determine whether such cyclooxygenase inhibitors could reduce alveolar bone absorption during periodontal disease.
