《申报》在1872年4月30日创刊于上海,是我国出版最早的报纸之一。该报原为英国人美查(E.Major)所办,美查回国后,由席子眉、席子佩兄弟接办,但仍沿用外商名义发行。史量才于1912年以十二万元的代价盘进该报,才真正成为中国人自己经营的报纸。接办初期,史仍任席子佩为经理,不久,改任张竹平为经理,自任总经理,努力经营,使报纸渐有起色。
“Shenbao” was founded in Shanghai on April 30, 1872, and was one of the earliest newspapers published in China. The newspaper was originally run by E.Major. After the United States returned to China, it was taken over by Matt Mei and Matt Pei, but was still issued in the name of foreign investors. It was only in 1912 that the historical record was entered into the newspaper at a price of 120,000 yuan to become a newspaper run by the Chinese themselves. Take over the initial stage, the history is still matted as the manager of the mat, and soon changed to Zhang Zhuping as manager, since he served as general manager, and strive to operate so that the newspaper is getting better.
