In 1996, Beijing Natural History Museum broke the original concept that the museum only exhibited dead bodies and did not exhibit live objects, and built its own aquatic biological center. Located at the southern end of the museum’s basement, this aquatic creature consists of an evolution hall, a marine hall and a freshwater hall. Evolution Hall shows some ancient fish, in the history of biological evolution has some significance. For example, Latima fish is a survivor of Paleozoic total finfish and is a specimen sent to our country by Comoros countries. There are also two living lung fish in the aquatic life museum, which are progressive types in vertebrates. They hid in the mud when the water was dry, like the loach
