“谁知五柳孤松客,却住三坊七巷间”——近百年前,陈衍在和林纾的诗《畏庐寄诗题匹园新楼次韵》中首次提到了今天名闻天下的福州“三坊七巷”。从那时起,“三坊七巷”这个福州城市名片开始流传。“三坊七巷”位于福州市中心,是中国十大历史文化名街之一,占地约40公顷。福州城内今天仍部分地保留着唐宋以来形成的坊巷格局,“三坊七巷”就是其中最重要的一个。“三坊七巷”中保存较好的明清古建筑有159座,其中包括全国重点文物保护单位9处,省级文物保护单位8处,是中国当今城市里坊制度的活化石。
