As early as December 1935, a 12-year-old boy stepped onto the stage of the Leningrad Philharmonic Association Grand Theater and played Tchaikovsky’s “Rococo” well. As we grow older, prodigy becomes a skilled performer, but new musical ideas that often disappear with the passage of time pass no less than his performance. Every time you attend Danielle Borisovich Shafran’s cello concert, people are always amazed by unexpected new feelings. Negative slack, “the old one” missed him, creative youth stationed. In contrast, many of the much younger peers feel senile, tired, and confronted with the status quo ... Shafran can hardly live his beloved cello almost daily.
