毛笔,古称宣笔,因产于宣州(今安徽宣城)而得名,也称“徽笔”。元代以后转以湖州(今浙江吴兴)所制为最佳,遂有“湖笔”之称。现今社会上流传的古笔较为稀少。故宫博物院保存了数千件明、清时代的宫廷用笔,颇为珍贵。特别是其中上百支有制造年款的明代宫廷用笔,从未流山皇宫,更是世间罕见。现将故宫藏笔的制作与装饰特点介绍于下,以飨同好。
