桥式起重机运行机构正常行驶时,车轮轮缘与钢轨应保持有一定的间隙,当起重机由于某种原因使车轮相对钢轨产生横向滑动时,车轮轮缘与钢轨相挤,在运行中产生强烈的磨损,出现啃轨现象。起重机啃轨是车轮轮缘与钢轨摩擦阻力增大的过程,也是车架走斜的过程,啃轨会使车轮和钢轨很快报废。正常工作情况下车轮根据工作级别可以使用5a以上甚至到10a。严重的啃轨使车轮寿命大大降低,有的1~2a,也有的几个月就报废。啃轨严重也会引发起重机脱轨并造成事故。啃轨的原因主要是由轨道缺陷或车轮缺陷,也可能由车轮运行不同步等。武汉钢铁集团公司1台桥式起重机在设计工况下运行,不足1个
