At the end of 2006, at the special edition of Beijing Poly Autumn Auction, the “Three Gorges New Migrants” oil painting auctioned a sky-high price of 22 million yuan, setting a world record for the auction of contemporary Chinese art. The incident sparked a wave of waves in the art world, with some predicting that the Chinese art market will become the third-largest investment hot spot after real estate and securities. However, in Wenzhou in recent years, not only the auction of calligraphy and painting works of art is seldom seen, but also the gallery as the main channel for the management of calligraphy and painting works is also struggling. After all, are people in Wenzhou who are not interested in the art investment or are the ways in which the Wenzhou Art Gallery deviates from the market? For this reason, I visited many galleries operating paintings and calligraphy in downtown Wenzhou.
