1951年8月27日到9月1日,中国全国各地的海洋湖沼学工作者,都派了代表,到我们的人民首都——北京,开全国代表会议。为着表示我们对你们的关怀,为着希望在工作中能随时和你们联系,所以在闭会的时候我们一致通过写这封信给你们。我们很兴奋地告诉你们:在消灭了美帝国主义所武装的蒋介石腐败的反动政权之后,在推翻了帝国主义和封建主义的压迫之后,中国人民已真正地获得了解放。就拿我们自然科学工作者来说,现在过的是民主自由的新生活。科学研究经费,已大大地增加,我们的生活,也显著地改善。我们深深地体验到:祇有在人民的政权下,科学纔有可能获得发展的机会,科学纔有可能好好地为人民服务。我们中华人民共
From August 27 to September 1, 1951, all marine lacustrine workers from all over China dispatched their representatives to our nation’s capital, Beijing, to hold a national conference. To express our concern for you and to be with you at any moment in our work, we will unanimously pass this letter to you when we are closed. We are very excited to tell you that after the overthrow of the oppression by imperialism and feudalism after the reactionary regime of corruption by Chiang Kai-shek, armed with US imperialism has been eliminated, the Chinese people have truly gained their liberation. Take our natural science workers, now is a new life of democracy and freedom. The funding for scientific research has greatly increased, and our lives have also significantly improved.
