中药泡剂是继我国古代煮散和茶剂剂型的基础上发展起来的一种新剂型。它既类同煮散、茶剂的简便服用方法,又有高于煮散、茶剂的制作技术。可称为体积小、服用方便,节省药材,疗效显著的一种有前途好剂型。煮散,早在张仲景“金匮要略”中即有记载,它的制作方法简便,是将药材破碎成粗末,与水共煮,除渣、服汁。煮散优于饮片,可以最大限度的煎出有效成分,故很早有人提出,用半剂量的饮片做煮散可收到全剂量饮片的临床效果。
