多年来我国所用的中心钻,其容屑槽形状都属直槽结构。由于这种结构制造方便,已广为各工具制造厂所采用,但其切削性能并不理想,切削难以自动排出,刀具寿命低。螺旋槽中心钻就可克服上述缺点。在中心钻的有关标准中,如ISO866—1975、DIN 333、ANSIB94、11M—1979等都明确提到槽形可作成螺旋槽或直槽两种,由制造厂选择而定。图所示的螺旋槽中心钻d=3.18、β=23°±1°。其它规格的尺寸参数见表1。
