1886年,Wohl首先将甲醛溶液以硫化氢饱和,然后再加入甲胺而得到一种固体结晶产物,证明其结构为:1932年 Le Févre,J.Graymore等人,先后研究甲胺、乙胺、环己胺、N一次甲基苄胺、取代苄胺、苯胺、对一甲基苯胺、N一次苄基胺等在甲醛溶液中和硫化氢的反应,都得到一系列的固体结晶。由于反应条件不同,这些化合物可以归纳成下面的三种类型:
