《义务教育语文课程标准》对中学语文课外阅读作了具体明确的规定:“学会制订自己的阅读计划,广泛阅读各种类型的读物,课外阅读总量不少于260万字,每学年阅读两三部名著。”《义务教育语文课程标准》还明确指出:“要培养学生广泛阅读的兴趣,扩大阅读面,增加阅读量。提倡少做题,多读书,好读书,读好书,读整本书,鼓励学生自主选择阅读材料。”可见,课外阅读在语文教学中有相当的比重。
