Edgar Ellen Poe’s aesthetic theory and literary practice of “art for art” have not got rid of the bondage and influence of social economy, politics, culture and ideology. As an employment editor, critic and professional writer, he kept close contact with the racial trauma and ethnic identity crisis in the 19th century American Cultural Center. His works use and deconstruct the prevailing sensibility and sentiment in the cultural market at that time. Reflects the horror and violence of the slavery society and reveals the terror of the white rulers. When they imitate the stereotypes of racism, they questioned and subverted the “pure” ethnocentrism.
