Objective To investigate the relationship between visual evoked potential (VEP) and cerebral blood flow in patients with occipital lobe stroke. Methods Visual evoked potentials (VEP) were measured in 50 patients with occipital lobe stroke and 50 normal controls, and cerebral blood flow was measured at the same time. Results Stroke group had 35 cases (70%) of abnormal VEP and 4 cases (8%) of abnormal group. Cerebral stroke in the occipital lobe average blood flow 42.7 ± 6ml100 (-1) / min, the control group 49.6 ± 7.6ml100 (-1) / min, VEP abnormalities and occipital lobe cerebral blood flow was negatively correlated, with A visual field defect VEP abnormal rate. Conclusion VEP is more valuable for diagnosis of central nervous system injury, especially in those with visual field defect. VEP abnormality is negatively correlated with occipital lobe cerebral blood flow.
