Some of the achievements made in the research of alternative rhodium catalyst systems are also briefly discussed. These include: nickel, iridium and some other novel supported metal catalysis systems. Their supports include polymers, Activated carbon, zeolites, inorganic metal oxygenates and some other new materials are also introduced.
