导戏是相当艰苦的。导演一出被多少名流演红、演定了型的剧目更显艰难。86年3月,领导上交给我和舒羽同志新改编的赣剧青阳腔剧本《盗草》。新改本一反故态,和全国所有剧种目前上演的《盗仙草》不同。它把一出以“出手”技巧性很强的小武戏,改为以情见长的折子戏:白素贞为获得仙草,向鹤鹿二童倾吐对许仙的深情挚爱。搏斗中力竭败阵,夺过二童的长枪,企图以死殉情,终于感动二童,甘冒师父责罚,将仙草送与白素贞。剧本新的立意,促使我们要排出一个和目前各剧种上演不一样的《盗仙草》。这些年,开放、搞活,外来文化的大量引进,人们观念更新,社会节奏加快,群众从被动接受转为主动的选择。和人民需求,激变的情趣,寻求的刺激相比,戏曲明显地落伍了。剧场上座率在急速下降再下降。戏曲危机的因素是多种多样的。但其中有一条是戏曲剧团本身的自我封闭和禁锢。主要表现在一味强
