The discovery of the Rosetta Stone became the key to the interpretation of the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs dating back thousands of years. One summer of 1799, Napoleon’s Golden Iron Horse broke through the tranquility of Rashid, the city of Egypt’s harbor, or Rosetta. There, they discovered the Rosetta Stone that fascinated the world. This piece of granite stone carving with the same paragraph in three different languages allows modern archaeologists to crack down the Egyptian hieroglyphs dating back to the millennium and become the most important key to the study of ancient Egyptian language and even history and culture. Today, this treasure trove of influx into the British British Museum attracts visitors from all over the world to explore its mystery.
