精密冲裁,1935年起源于瑞士,1958~1960年得到普遍应用。精冲能用于厚板。譬如,能冲厚为10~14毫米的板材并且断面光滑,不会出现普通剪切那种断面。精冲能达到的表面光洁度为Ra0.2~1微米。还能省掉大大增加生产成本的普通冲裁所需要的某些工序,如刮、磨、去毛刺等。普通冲裁的剪切面真正剪切的部分只有材料厚度的1/3;对于精冲,材料的切割线内外分别被顶件器(推板)与凸模、齿圈压板与凹模牢固地压紧,冲裁时凸模完全贯穿到材料的全部厚度(见图)。
