马耳他共和国位于地中海中部,是大西洋通往印度洋和地中海东部的交通要冲,是联接欧、亚、非海运的枢纽,故有“地中海心脏”之称。该国属亚热带地中海式的气候,年平均气温约18.7C°,年平均降雨量为525毫米;全年大半时间天空晴朗,日照充足。全岛花木繁丽茂盛,是世界著名的旅游胜地。马耳他于1999年至2003年发行了4组“花卉”题材普票,全套24枚。笔者虽非主集“花卉”专题邮品,但对这套美丽的邮票实在爱不释手,现在此介绍给同好分享。
Located in the middle of the Mediterranean, the Republic of Malta is the hub of the Atlantic Ocean connecting the Indian Ocean and the eastern Mediterranean. It is the hub of Europe, Asia and Africa and therefore has the title of “heart of the Mediterranean”. The country is subtropical Mediterranean climate, the annual average temperature of about 18.7C °, the average annual rainfall of 525 mm; most of the year sunny sky, sunshine. The island’s luxuriant flowers and luxuriant, is the world famous tourist destination. From 1999 to 2003, Malta issued 4 sets of “Flowers” theme tickets, with a total of 24 pieces.
