Today, PFC-class and DC / DC-class power supply efficiency requirements are higher and higher, especially in light-load operation. To meet these requirements, engineers should logically choose to use lower gate charge MOSFETs to reduce drive losses. Low gate charge enables fast switching on and off over the entire load range.
