稀有金属是个宝稀有金属是自然界中含量较少、分布较散、提炼较难、应用较晚的金属的总称。除常用金属如铁、铜、铅、锌、金、银等外,其它金属多算做稀有金属,已知的有四十多种。稀有金属过去应用较少,只是在第二次世界大战中,特别是在战后工业发达国家科学技术革命中才渐渐广泛应用。例如,直到四十年代,人们才开始应用铀;一九五七年铍开始应用于工业;六十年代原子工业才采用钶和铋。这些被埋没多年的稀有金属正在军事和工业
