Tokyo, Japan Yokogawa Medical Instruments Inc. has announced that it has jointly developed the 1.5Tesla superconducting, dual-bed magnetic resonance imaging device Sierra with General Electric Company of the United States. Sierra’s design is space-saving and offers the advantage that the 1.5 Tesla machines require only the same space requirements for medium-strength machines and are compact enough to be shielded from GE’s active magnetic field shields.
