陆地国土和海洋国土共同构成了21世纪中华民族生存与发展的基地。由于国际地缘政治、国家自身国力、科学技术水平等多方面的原因,新中国成立初期,特别是20世纪50-70年代,我国国土开发利用的重心在陆地而不在海洋。但是,这并没有影响我国一代又一代科学家基于肩负的历史责任,在海洋地理学领域不断探索和创新。正是他们持续不断,艰苦卓绝的努力,为国家海洋国土的开发、保护与安全奠定了坚实的科学基础。我国地理学和海洋学专家首次紧密结合,提炼科学成果,并形成对中国海洋地理特征
Territorial land and maritime territory together constitute the 21st century Chinese nation’s survival and development base. Due to various reasons such as international geopolitics, the country’s own national strength and the level of science and technology, in the early days of New China, especially from the 1950s to the 1970s, China’s land development and utilization center on land and not in the sea. However, this has not affected the historical responsibility of our generation after generation of scientists to continuously explore and innovate in the field of marine geography. It is their continuous and arduous efforts that have laid a solid scientific foundation for the development, protection and security of the country’s marine territory. For the first time, Chinese geography and oceanographers are closely integrated with each other to refine the scientific achievements and to develop a comprehensive understanding of China’s marine geography
